$hsv is a useful shader parameter in the PBR shader that controls the hue, saturation, and value of both the base texture and emission texture. This allows easier control over the color composition of a texture, along with color possibilities that wouldn't be possible with just $color. This parameter would be immensely useful to have on other shaders
